In his bed, Angel is sleeping peacefully. Suddenly, he wakes up from Darla's visit and stares at the ceiling. Act I
The group arrives at an empty parking lot. The snitch, Jameel, comes out nervously from behind a van. Angel throws him the bribe money, but Jameel's afraid, and refuses to reveal Deevak's location. Gunn is frustrated and begins to beat on the snitch but Angel stops him. Gunn tries to continue beating Jameel but Angel claims this is his case now. A group of Deevak's vamps come out and attacks them as Jameel escapes. After the successful fight, they lean against the car, discussing how lousy the fight went. Angel wants to regroup, but Gunn is frustrated because of another delay and takes off to track down Jameel on his own. Wes points out he's never seen Angel have so much trouble with a simple vampire. Angel replies, "Off day. Let's go." Cordy drops off Angel, who heads straight for bed. Cordy is surprised that he's going to sleep so early in the night. Act II
At the Hyperion Hotel, Angel is lounging beneath the night sky with Darla getting a night tan. There's the sound of phone ringing in the background, but Darla tells him to ignore it. She distracts Angel with a cube of ice down his chest and a kiss. Cordy is calling, but no one is picking up; so instead, she leaves a message on the answering machine, telling them about her vision and asking them to meet her at Gunn's as soon as possible. She takes a fighting ax with her. Cordy drives Angel's car to Gunn's place. Cordy peeks into the room and sees Gunn practicing his fighting skills with Joey, a member of his crew. Cordy thinks Gunn is in danger and her ax aims true - on Joey's head. Still outside, Angel holds Darla in his arms. She needs to leave, but Angel wants her to stay. There's a knocking sound. They turn, and it's Wes hammering away at a coffin. Darla disappears, upsetting Angel. He attacks Wes. In his bedroom, Angel jolts out of bed and pins the former Watcher on the floor, choking him. It's no longer a dream. Wes is trying to tell him about Gunn. Angel backs off and Wes can finally breathe. Wes looks down and points out, "Now about the naked thing?" Cordy is bandaging Joey's head. Gunn is kind of embarrassed that a girl tried to "save" him in front of his crew. He insists the he can take care of himself. Gunn walks Cordy out and tells her that he doesn't need or want her help. Outside, they stand before an empty parking space and Gunn looks around. He asks, "So, where's your car?" Cordy is stunned and speechless. Outside the Hyperion Hotel, Wes is expecting to see Angel's car, so he asks "So, where's your car?" Angel, too busy with sleeping, forgot that he gave his car to Cordy for the night. Now, they have to find an alternate mode of transportation. Fast. Gunn is driving Cordy to a local chop shop that may have the car. She's still in disbelief. However, Gunn is still annoyed that Cordy insists on staying by his side. They get into a sarcasm-fest because she refuses to leave his side. Gunn wants to get the car back so that Cordy can leave, but she's adamant about saving him. Vision Girl tries to explain how things work, but Gunn only scoffs at her and her ax and especially her mace. He's Gunn. He doesn't need any saving. At the Hyperion Hotel, Wes brings his motorcycle around, but he's waiting for Angel to put on his motorcycle helmet a pink motorcycle helmet. Wes argues that Angel needs to put it on or else they risk being stopped by the police. Reluctantly, Angel finally puts it on. Wes can only hold back a smile as he says, "Hop on board --gorgeous!" Act III
As they go into the party, Gunn runs into one of his crew. He disobeyed orders; instead of cruising the garment district, he was out with his buddies. Gunn orders him to go home. Cordy points out that he's being too tough and strict. At the party, Gunn tells her to keep close. Cordy assures him she can blend, but this isn't Cordy's kind of party and so she stands out like a sore thumb. Gunn runs into Veronica, a girl he knows from the neighborhood. She seems to like Gunn and is jealous of Cordy. Veronica tells him Desmond is around. They walk through the house looking for Desmond, and spot him pouring himself a beer. Gunn demands the return of the car, but Deevak's vamps come in and attack Gunn. They start a major fight. Cordy tries to help Gunn but gets thrown on the floor. Veronica comes to help as well, but a vamp shoves her into a glass shelf. She crashes through the shelf and falls on the floor with a piece of glass jammed into her neck. Before Cordy can stop her, Veronica takes it out, causing her neck to bleed profusely. Cordy uses a cloth to add pressure to her wound. The vamps take off. Gunn comes over and sees Veronica lying on the floor. Cordelia urges Gunn to get help. Gunn carries Veronica into the emergency room with Cordy still adding pressure to keep the bleeding down. She quickly informs the doctor what happened. The doctor begins to treat her wound. Cordy walks to the waiting room, where Gunn is having a déjà vu. He says he feels guilty because someone got hurt and it was his fault. He mistakenly refers to Veronica as Alonna - his sister who was turned last spring and dusted at Gunn's hand. Gunn punches the wall in his anger. Cordy can only try to comfort him and tell him it wasn't his fault. Just then, Desmond, who also got hurt, is about to leave on the elevator, when Cordy stops him. Gunn demands to know where the car is. Act IV
Gunn and Cordy are in a garage, where they find Angel's car, but Cordy doesn't have the keys. Gunn can't believe she left them in the car. No wonder it got stolen! She starts to look for them but Deevak shows up with an entourage of vamps. Gunn tries to get Cordy to leave, but she's sticking to her guns. Deevak lifts Gunn from the neck and Cordy can only watch, helpless. Surprisingly, Deevak turns into Jameel. He was Deevak all along, and isn't too happy about how he was treated. Cordy reaches for her mace and succeeds in spraying Jameel's eyes. He turns back into Deevak just as Wes and Angel skid underneath the garage door. A fight ensues. One of the vamps smiles at Angel's pink helmet. Angel promptly uses it to slam the vamp's face. Deevak goes after Gunn. Gunn is trying to fight him but having trouble. Just as Deevak is about to deal the killing blow, Angel yells for the ax from Cordy. He catches it and slams it into Deevak's head. The demon falls, and the battle is done. Since the keys are still missing, Angel pushes the car out of the garage. Wes finds the keys with green goop on them but Angel refuses to touch them and wants to hot wire the car instead. Gunn is about to leave when Cordy tells him about her revelation: in her vision it was he who was the danger to himself, and not any demon. She promises to be by his side until he can resolve his problems. Gunn is still reluctant but finally accepts her presence and drives off in his truck with a smile.
In the waking world, Angel is in his bed sleeping with a look of contentment on his face, but in his dreams, Darla is straddling him on the couch, kissing his neck. The dream becomes reality when Darla crawls into his bed. She kisses his neck, "Hmmm . . . .I could just eat you up!" Knowing Darla, she just might.
